Okay, okay…so we’re long overdue for an update here. As most of you already know, we’re now pretty well settled in to our new, temporary home here in Janesville, MN where we’ll live for a year as I serve as Vicar at Trinity Lutheran Church. We’ve been here just about a month now and so far, things are going really well.

Rome is only a couple of weeks away from his first birthday and is walking a lot now. Sometimes he gets going so fast he’ll just run into stuff stuff instead of stopping first. Thankfully he hasn’t been hurt…yet. Kris has started working at the Trinity Tots daycare which is associated with our Vicarage church. She only works about 20 hours a week which gives her lots of time to spend with Rome and doing things around the apartment. We couldn’t have asked for a better work situation for her.

As for me,this has already been quite the learning experience. So far I’ve preached three sermons and I’ll be preaching tomorrow night, two services this weekend, next Wednesday and next weekend at some sister congregations. I’ve also been leading Bible studies, working with Small Group Ministries, helped with a funeral service, worked at the Minnesota State Fair to help raise money for Camp Omega, and worked with a number of “tech” related projects.

I’ll say this much…my education at the Seminary has been great so far – wonderful professors and a sound, solid theological education – but nothing compares to actually doing this on a daily basis. I’ve had my share of challenges too and I’m sure there will be more to come, but the people here are great and my supervising pastor (a.k.a. “Bishop), Pastor Griffin, is a wonderful mentor. Last but not least, be sure check out our photos page as I’ve added some new photos over the last week. When I get some more free time, I’ll try to add some more as well as put up some more videos. I think that’s probably enough for now. Take care & God bless!
